The rewards for Yuvraj Walmiki continue with the Mumbai Hockey Association organising a felicitation function for the India forward. The state body presented a cheque for Rs. 1 lakh as reward for his role in India's Asian Champions Trophy victory. Merzaban Patel of Bombay Republicans Club, his mentor, handed over the cheque.

Patel revealed that the youngster achieved what he has today due to sheer will power and referred to three other ‘Walmikis' in the city waiting for opportunities to make it big some day on the national scene. Yuvraj said: “It was the help and encouragement from the parent body which was largely responsible in shaping my career and I will strive to earn more laurels for India.”

The MHA Hon. Secretary, Olympian Gurbax Singh Grewal, spelt out the importance of hard work, sincerity and discipline needed to reach the top. The State hockey body has consistently rewarded its players over the years.
