India loses 4-5 to Pak in Asian Champions Trophy

India fought hard before going down 4-5 to Pakistan in the men’s section of the Asian Champions Trophy at Kakamigahara, Japan, on Thursday.

This was the team’s third defeat in the competition.

India scored through Gurjinder Singh (24th minute), Amit Rohidas (30th), Manpreet Singh (40th) and Malak Singh (49th).

For Pakistan, Abdul Haseem Khan (second minute), Mohammad Imran (35th), Mohammad Rizwan (36th & 44th) and Mohammad Rizwan Jr (53rd) were the goal-scorers.

Late goal

In the women’s category, India conceded a late goal to lose 1-2 to host Japan and slumped to its first defeat. India and Japan will now meet in the summit clash on Saturday.

The results: Men: Pakistan 5 (Rizwan 2, Haseem, Imran, Rizwan Jr) bt India 4 (Gurjinder, Rohidas, Manpreet, Malak.

Women: Japan 2 (Mazuki, Shiho) bt India 1 (Chanchan).
