Indian women's hockey team completed their hat-trick of defeats when they went down 1-2 to Asian giants China in the third and concluding test match in Shanghai today.

China led 2-0 at half time after Wang Men Gyu scored from a fourth minute penalty corner and Zhao Yu Diao sounded the board in the 34th minute.

Saba Anjum reduced the margin for India in the 67th minute but that was not enough to avert the team's third successive defeat.

India thus concluded their seven-match twin series against Japan and China in their preparation programme for the Women's World Cup to be held in Argentina in August-September, followed by the Commonwealth and Asian Games in Delhi and Guangzhou respectively.
