The women’s teams from Haryana and Jharkhand strolled into the semifinals of the sub-junior National hockey championships on Thursday.
Haryana registered its third consecutive win of the tournament, defeating Jharkhand 5-1 in a Pool B encounter at the SAI Centre here. However, despite the loss, Jharkhand advanced to the knockout stage, finishing second in the group by virtue of a better goal difference against other teams in its group.
In another Pool B match, Aishwarya Chavan scored twice for Maharashtra to register a 2-1 victory over Andhra Pradesh.
