The Tamil Nadu Police team which took the honours in the State-level hockey tournament on Sunday.

The Tamil Nadu Police team which took the honours in the State-level hockey tournament on Sunday.

Balakrishnan netted the winner as Tamil Nadu Police defeated SAI (Chennai) 1-0 in the final of the BJPM 16th State-level hockey tournament here on Sunday.

In the third place play-off, Reserve Line SC (Madurai) beat Thirunagar HC (Madurai) 2-1.

The results (final): Tamil Nadu Police 1 (Balakrishnan) bt SAI, Chennai 0.

Third place: Reserve Line SC, Madurai 2 (Elango, Rajendran) bt Thirunagar HC, Madurai 1 (Raja).

Semifinals: Tamil Nadu Police 2 (Stalin 2) bt Thirunagar HC, Madurai 1 (Sathyaseelan); SAI, Chennai 4 (Ilambarithi 4) bt Reserve Line SC, Madurai 1 (Rajendran).
