Indian hockey goalkeeper Baljit Singh is recovering fast from a successful surgery to his damaged right eye at a private hospital in Albama, US, Dr Kiran Rajagopalan, senior doctor of AIIMS accompanying the player said.

“He is recovering fast under Dr (Robert) Morris’ observation and his bandage would be removed in a few days. Operation has been successful to his damaged eye,” Dr Rajagopalan said.

Although Dr Rajagopalan said it was too early to predict whether Baljit would regain his full vision or not, he expressed optimism about the Chandigarh lad’s complete recovery.

“He has been kept in a recovery room after the operation. I am confident that he will regain his lost vision,” he said.
