Sultan Azlan Shah, President, Asian Hockey Federation, passed away at Ipoh (Malaysia) on Wednesday. He was 86.
A hockey enthusiast since his student days, Azlan Shah steered the administration of the sport in Malaysia for 21 years.
He was the president of AHF for over two decades. At the time of passing away, he was a member of the executive board of the International Hockey Federation.
Tan Sri P. Alagendra, Secretary-General, AHF, said in a tribute: “in remembering him, we may recall the highest and best principles of sport and humanity that he represented.”
