Union Sports Minister Jitendra Singh expressed concern over the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) not amending its Constitution as desired by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) during the Special General Body Meeting in the Capital on Sunday.

“The Government of India stands committed to zero tolerance on criminality in sports and adherence to ethics and good governance in sports in the country. The Government is concerned about the ongoing impasse between IOC and IOA, and is watching the developments closely,” said the Minister, in the release issued here on Monday.

The Sports Ministry has made it clear that it was keen on India getting back into the Olympic Movement quickly, and competing under the national flag at international competitions.
