Hello and welcome to our live updates between Germany and Serbia.

After yesterday's disappointing performance from France, we expect this European clash between Germany and Serbia to impress all football fans. Germany's attacking football style has given them a upper-hand amongst the European teams.

Squads: Germany: Neuer, Friedrich, Holger Badstuber, Lahm (C), Mertesacker, Khedira, Schweinsteiger, Ozil, Podolski, Klose, Muller

Serbia: Stojkovic, Kolarov,.Vidic, Ivanovic, Subotic, Stankovic (C), Jovanovic, Krasic, Ninkovic, Kuzmanovic, Zigic

7th minute: Germany's Podolski intercepts a cross by Nemanja Vidic and attempts a shot at goal. Podolski, however, sees his shot soar off-taget

11th minute: Serbia's Ninkovic sees an effort go off target.

12th minute: The Germans are mistiming several of their tackles. Miroslav Klose is penalised with a yellow card for a clumsy tackle.

15th minute: Serbia win a free-kick in a dangerous position. Milan Jovanovic lobs it to the back post but there is nobody to convert it. A chance lost.

19th minute: Another yellow card! This time for the Serbians. Kolarov is cautioned.

22nd minute: German defenfer Khedira concedes a free kick and earns himself a yellow card. This is already the third yellow card of the game.

25th minute: The 'Deutschland' side is commiting needless fouls in the midfield. Captain, Philip Lahm, is cautioned for a dangerous challenge.

29th mintue: The game seems quite bogged down in mid-field as both teams have attempted only a few shots at goal.

32nd minute: A late challenge by the German captain and this time he is booked. Serbia have a goal-scoring opportunity from a deadly position.

Serbia's Kolarov strikes! But his free kick wide.

36th minute: Foul! Miroslav Klose attempts a tackle from behind. And the referee pulls out the card. A second yellow card for Klose and he is off! Germany are down to ten men.

38th minute: Serbia 1-0 Germany Krasic makes a beautiful run and curls the ball to Zigic at the far post. Zigic heads it back into the centre. Jovanovic who is unmarked in front of goal, pushes the ball past Neuer into the net. A very scrappy goal that but Serbia will not mind one bit.

Jovanovic is set to join Liverpool later this summer.

45 +1: Action and drama in extra time! Germany's Ozil whips in a corner kick the goalie punches it away. Khedira waiting like a predator on top of the box hammers the ball onto the crossbar. Muller immediately takes an overhead kick, off the rebound. But the shot is cleared by a defender on the line. Germany's best scoring chance till now. With only ten men Germany still look threatening.

The referee brings the first half to an end

Let us hope the referee is a less strict in the second half and does not needlessly send off palyers.

47th minute: Germany display a more attacking approach in the second half. Podolski sees an effort go off target.

Captain of Serbia, Dejan Stankovic, has played three World Cups for three different nations: Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro and now Serbia.

53rd minute: Lahm delivers an accurate free-kick to Friedrich who slams the ball towards goal. Disappointingly straight into the goalie's hands.

55th minute: Lahm commits another foul. He especially must be cautious. We don't want to see a German team with only eight outfield players.

56th minute: Germany are showing a much-more attacking intent. Bastian Schweinsteiger snaps a shot from the edge of the box. Vladimir Stojkovic fumbles... but he keeps it out. Its good enough, to halt the German attack.

60th minute: A costly error! Manchester United's Nemanja Vidic handles the ball inside the area. It's a PENALTY!!! It's all happening at Port Elizabeth. Podolski takes the penalty. And he misses!!! A low-spot kick and a decent save by Stojkovic. A golden chance, wasted.

68th minute: Germany continue to attack. Muller with a flashy run. He see his effort go off target.

69th minute: The first subs are coming in. Kakar replaces Ninkovic for Serbia. For Germany Cacau replaces Muller and Marin replaces Ozil.

72nd minute: Kolarov sprints past a few German players. Schweinsteiger stumbles onto him to halt his flow. He is booked. Another yellow for the Germans.

75th minute: The Serbians are in an agressive mode, even with the one goal lead. It is the German defence that under attacked at all of a sudden.

79th minute: Another substitution. Goal-scorer Jovanovic is replaced by Lazovic. With just ten minutes left, the Germans are yet struggling to get past the Serbian defence.

83rd minute: Some crisp passing by the Germans, and its Podolski with the shot. Low and wide. Podolski has taken seven shots and all have been off-target. The Germans are getting deperate to find an equalizer.

89th minure: Germany is still on the attack. Lahm floats in a ball... straight into the galie's hands. Germany's crosses have been rather poor today.

90+4: The final whistle sounds and Germany has been beaten for the first time in a group stage match since 1986.

An excellent opportunity was presented to ten-men Germany to equalise from the penalty spot, after Miroslav Klose received an early bath, but Lukas Podolski's low shot was saved by Stojkovic. Then, Serbia, hung for dear life and came away with all three points.

The group is now tantalisingly poised with Ghana, Germany and Serbia all having an opportunity to qualify for the knockout stages.

That's it from me. Join my colleague Swaroop Swaminathan from 11:30 for all the build-up and live-updates for the England vs Algeria encounter.
