Chelsea missed the chance to take a four-point lead at the top of the Premier League as they conceded a late equaliser to draw 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday.
The opener came in first-half injury-time when Branislav Ivanovic forced the ball in at the back post after David Luiz flicked on a corner.
But with three minutes remaining Victor Anichebe stole in front of David Luiz and glanced in Saido Berahino’s cross.
The point lifted West Brom out of the bottom three on goal difference.
West Ham United won their third game in a row, beating Norwich City 2-0 to pull five points clear of the relegation zone.
James Collins headed the opener after 85 minutes and Mohamed Diame added the second with a deflected effort in injury-time to leave Norwich struggling just two points above the bottom three.
Jose Fonte got the only goal as Southampton won 1-0 away to Hull City, slamming home the rebound after a fine save from Steve Harper.
Southampton is safe in mid-table, while Hull stand four points above the drop zone.
Cardiff City remains second-bottom after a 0-0 draw at home to Aston Villa.
Cardiff struck the woodwork twice in the pace of a minute around the quarter-hour, Fraizer Campbell seeing his shot pushed against the post by Brad Guzan after a neat through-ball from Wilfried Zaha before Craig Noone’s long-range effort was deflected onto the bar.
Villa had the better of the second-half, though, and were denied a win only by a sensational late reaction save from David Marshall to deny Andreas Weimann.
