A last-minute equaliser from Rasmus Elm saw Sweden come from four goals down to secure an unlikely 4-4 draw away to Germany in a 2014 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday in Berlin.
Joachim Loew’s side looked to have secured an easy win in front of 72,000 fans at the Olympic Stadium after racing to a four-goal lead thanks to a brace from Miroslav Klose and strikes from Per Mertesacker and Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Oezil.
Goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mikael Lustig and Johan Elmander gave Sweden hope of pulling off an unlikely comeback, and Elm salvaged the draw with virtually the last kick of the game in added time.
The result sees Germany move onto 10 points from four games, three clear of Sweden and four ahead of Ireland, who have both played one game less.
