State Bank of Travancore (SBT) bounced back into the reckoning with a 4-0 drubbing off traditional Thiruvananthapuram league rival Titanium in a group A ONGC Second Division I-League clash at the football stadium here on Friday.

This second win on the trot should stand SBT in good stead.

Mohammed Aslam, the hero in its last win over Chandni FC, scored once each on either side of the interval. Then Martin John and Asif Saheer added a goal each in the dying minutes to boost the tally.

Adapting better under the conditions, SBT went into the lead two minutes into the first half injury time when Mohd Aslam left footed an Asif Saheer centre from close past a hapless Joby Joseph under the Titanium goal.

In the 63rd minute Aslam was at it again cutting past a sprawling Joby and maintaining his balance before tapping the ball into an open goal.

Though Aslam was soon benched SBT was not finished as veteran Martin John neatly flicked past the rival custodian in the 88th minute while Asif Saheer, who played the provider twice, rounded off the tally with a header in the 90th minute off a long ball from the deep by substitute Jipson.

Titanium on the other hand hardly looked like scoring and the best chance it came by was early in the match when Diljith essayed a powerful shot from close but wide off the near post.

SBT is now tied with HASC on points but with a better goal difference and behind Malabar United and BEML, with two matches to play.

There is no match at this venue on Saturday.

The results: SBT 4 (Mohd Aslam 2, Martin John, Asif Saheer) bt Titanium 0.
