Bengaluru FC and Pune FC drew 1-1 in a 21st round encounter of the I-League here on Friday.

In the 25th minute, a Sean Rooney run down the right and a low cross saw Sunil Chetri, stationed in the middle, essay a shot. The ball bounced back off the upright and Thoi Singh just had to boot it in.

The host troubled the rival defence with spontaneous raids from the left. However, Robin Singh and Rooney shot wide of the mark.

Pune’s Gabriel Fernandes came up with some fine passes down the middle but neither Mirjan Pavlovic nor Riga Mustapha Rahamat could make much of the chances.

The game turned around in the 74th minute when a Fernandes flag-kick saw substitute Anthony de Souza nod home the equaliser.

Bengaluru, with its fifth draw in 21 matches, has 38 points, while Pune is on 31 points.

The results: At Bangalore: Bengaluru FC 1 (Thoi Singh 25) drew with Pune FC (Anthony de Souza 74).

At Margao: Churchill Brothers 1 (Abdul Hamid Shabana 57) lost to Dempo 4 (T. Ozbey 8, 30, 47, 88).
