Prathap scored two goals in two minutes to help Sports Hostel, Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu beat Krida Prabodhini, Maharashtra 2-1 and book a quarterfinal berth in the Subroto Cup under-17 football tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Tuesday.

The Tamil Nadu team went into its Group VI encounter needing a victory and Prathap ensured that the team was comfortably placed with twin strikes in the 45th and 46th minute.

In the other group game, Air Force Bal Bharti held Cardinal Heenan Catholic Sports College, UK to 1-1 draw.

In the day’s other matches, Steqlal High School, Afghanistan defeated Guru Gobind Singh Sports College, Uttar Pradesh 8-0 to stay in hunt for a quarterfinal berth from Group VII while Ukraine’s FC Dynamo Kyiv continued its dominance in Group VIII with a 5-0 win against Modern School, New Delhi.
