Australia goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer said he was honoured to be a Chelsea player after signing a one-year contract late on Tuesday.
The 40-year-old was free to move after rejecting a new contract with Fulham and will provide competition to Petr Cech at Stamford Bridge.
“It’s a phenomenal club,” Schwarzer told the Chelsea website.
“It’s one of the biggest and best clubs in the world and it’s an honour to sign for Chelsea. I didn’t take much convincing to come here.” The Australian is new Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho’s third signing, joining midfielder Marco van Ginkel and striker Andre Schurrle.
