Liverpool have laughed off a second bid from Arsenal to sign Luis Suarez, reportedly worth just over 40 million pounds.
The BBC reported that Arsenal’s offer of £40,000,001 (61.4 million dollars) had triggered a clause in the Uruguayan’s contract that would force the club to consider the offer.
But according to the BBC, the clause does not force the club to sell and Liverpool owner John Henry reacted with incredulity to the offer.
“What do you think they’re smoking over there at Emirates?” Henry said on his official Twitter feed on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old Suarez, who is currently with the squad on tour in Australia, scored 30 goals for the club in 44 appearances last season.
But he still has six games to serve of a 10-match ban imposed on him for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic during a Premier League match last April.
