Oil and Natural Gas Corporation defeated Salgaocar 1-0 in the I-League football match at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Saturday.
F. Lalmuanpuia scored the match-winner in the 46th minute.
ONGC’s Japanese import Yusa Katsumi, whose spirited run in the 75th minute almost doubled the tally for the host, was named the Man-of-the-Match for the second consecutive time.
The win took ONGC to 19 points from 15 outings, while Salgaocar remained on 11 points from 14 outings.
After Saturday’s performance, ONGC, with five wins, was placed seventh on the points table. The Goan outfit occupied the 11th spot.
