Greece international central defender Sotiris Kyrgiakos says he intends to join Liverpool after receiving an offer from the Premier League club.

His current club AEK Athens did not confirm the deal but left the 30-year-old ff the roster for Thursday’s Europa League game against Romanian club Vaslui.

Kyrgiakos announced the news on his Web site and described his decision to move to England as “irrevocable.”

The 1.92-metre defender moved back to Greece last year after a three seasons at Glasgow Rangers and Eintracht Frankfurt.
