Kyiv wins title

It had a reputation to live up to and Dynamo Kyiv from Ukraine did it in style. Known to play aggressive football, the team dominated the contest against MSP HS School (Malappuram, Kerala) and won the final of the Subroto Cup with a 5-2 verdict here on Monday.

Dmytro Zayikin scored four goals and Rostyslav Taranukha one as Kyiv finished with 34 goals in seven matches in the tournament. For the Kerala outfit, Muhammed Sabith netted both the goals.

Individual awards: Best Player: Dmytro Zayikin (Dynamo Kyiv); Best Coach: Sergyi Bezhenar (Ukraine), Best Goalkeeper: V.K. Vishnu (MSP HS, Kerala); Promising Player: Y. Julet Singh (Little Angel Paradise English School, Thoubal, Manipur); Fair Play: Air Force School, Subroto Park; Top-scorer from Indian team: R. Pratap (Sports Hostel, Tiruchi, Tamil Nadu).
