It’s experience vs. exuberance

May 12, 2014 01:42 am | Updated May 23, 2016 04:53 pm IST - Golaghat (Assam):

A heady mix of youth and experience will rub shoulders when Manipur and Odisha renew acquaintance in the final of the 20th National women’s football championship here on Monday.

“We have nine National team players and Odisha is full of under-19 footballers. It will be great to watch the next generation of footballers playing with the seniors in a cup final,” Manipur captain Oinam Bembem Devi said. “Odisha has done exceptionally well to reach this far.

Manipur has won a mammoth 16 titles out of 19 so far.

“I have always felt that the national is the best platform to unearth new talent. I am thankful to the AIFF for organising it and I can see that it is paying rich dividends,” Bembem Devi, 34, added.
