Chennai seeks big-ticket player

August 22, 2014 01:08 am | Updated November 16, 2021 06:57 pm IST - CHENNAI:

Satisfied with its seven international picks, Team Chennai is now on the lookout for a key international marquee player for the ISL.

“We were able to pick four of our seven favourites and we expect to announce the signing of a big-ticket player soon — either a forward or a playmaker,” Prashant Agarwal, CEO of Playon Skills, who attended the draft for Team Chennai, said.

“However, it would have been nice if we had a choice with our Indian contingent and we might have opted for three of four changes. But, we can assure the fans in Chennai that their team is in safe hands.”

Chennai will have to make do with the 14 domestic players the Sun group had picked for its Bangalore franchisee, before terminating its ISL contract.
