JJ Polytechnic College edged out St. Joseph Polytechnic College 2-1 to win the title in the IPAA State-level inter-divisional football recently.

Other results: Semifinals: JJ PC bt Morning Star PC 2-1, via shootout (fulltime: 0-0); St. Joseph PC bt Karaikal PC 2-1. Quarterfinals: JJ bt Pattukottai PC 3-0; St. Joseph bt Alagappa PC 5-4, via shootout (fulltime: 2-2);Karaikal bt Shree Venkateshwara PC 1-0; Morning Star bt CSI PC 4-1.

Solar FC scores

At Dindigul, Solar Football Club, Nilakottai and PSNA FC, Dindigul registered wins over RVS Football Club, Dindigul and Sun Sports Club, Dindigul respectively in the DDFA first division league for the SPD Tools Trophy on Sunday.

The results: Solar FC, Nilakottai 1 (Karthikeyan) bt RVS FC, Dindigul 0; PSNA FC, Dindigul 1 (Prasanna) bt Sun Sports Club, Dindigul 0; Annai Sports Club, Dindigul 1 (Sahaya Joseph Babu) drew with RVS FC, Dindigul 1 (Bivin).

SRM beats Sathyabama

At Chennai, SRM defeated Sathyabama 25-19, 25-20, 22-25, 25-16 in the league stage of the South Zone inter-university men’s volleyball tournament.

Naseeb scores

TNBSA’s Naseeb defeated Q Ball’s Goverdana Giri in a close first round encounter of the State-ranking snooker tournament.
