Nigerian striker Ranty Martins cast off his scoring blues in time to help Prayag United SC surmount the challenge of local giant East Bengal 1-0 in an 11th round encounter of the I-League here on Sunday.

While getting United SC back to winning form after suffering successive losses in the previous three rounds, Martins’s 75th-minute goal also ended East Bengal’s unbeaten run in the previous nine rounds. The win helped United SC tally 17 points from 11 matches while East Bengal has 21 from 10 outings.
