World Cup winners Germany will play their Euro 2016 qualifying match against Gibraltar in Nuremberg rather than Bremen, it was announced on Friday.
The German Football Association (DFB) switched the game, to be played November 14, after the Bremen state senate passed a law requiring organisers of events at the Weser Stadium to pay police costs earlier this week.
The law would require the German Football League (DFL) to contribute to the policing costs for Werder Bremen home matches in the Bundesliga.
DFL president Reinhard Rauball immediately responded by saying he would ask the DFB not to play national team games in Bremen, a request which was granted.
In addition to Gibraltar, Germany face Ireland, Poland, Scotland and Georgia in qualifying group D for the 2016 European Championships, hosted in France.
