FIFA rankings: Portugal move to third as Spain stay on top

Portugal have climbed a place to third in FIFA’s world football rankings behind world and European champions Spain and Germany.

The latest rankings released on Thursday by football’s world governing body also sees Colombia improve one place to fourth and Uruguay up a place to fifth.

Argentina are down three places to share sixth place with World Cup hosts Brazil, who climb from ninth.

Greece return to the top 10 for the first time since October 2012, while Scotland are up 15 places to 22nd, the only team to climb more than 10 places.

The remaining top 10 places comprise Switzerland and Italy in eighth and ninth respectively.
