Churchill Brothers will like to keep their winning momentum going when they face Sporting Clube de Goa in a round 21 match of I-League football at the Nehru Stadium here on Saturday.

Churchill’s hard fought win over Lajong FC have put them back on the track and placed them third in the tally with 32 points from 20 matches, six behind leader Dempo.

They now need to show more consistency if they were to win the title.

With Felix playing well upfront along with Odafe Okolie, the rival defence will have a tough time to keep them at bay.

Churchill coach Carlos Pereira is hoping that his team continue to keep the winning momentum going.

“Sporting has been playing well and we need to be on guard against them who are fighting to avoid relegation,” said Pereira.

Sporting’s continued their revival after winning two successive matches which helped them to move four points off safety.

They are now lying at the bottom with 17 points.

From now on they have to play against tough opponents and have to win as many matches as possible in order to avoid relegation.

Sporting’s coach Vishwas Gaonkar said the boys were really playing well to the plan, I know tomorrow is a tough match but the boys are confident of putting across them.

“The pressure is on Churchill to win as they are fighting to retain the title and need six points to catch up Dempo who are sitting at the top,” he said.
