Cahill gets one-game ban

Australia captain Tim Cahill will only have to sit out the game against Ghana and can play again against Serbia at the World Cup after a red card offence, the ruling body FIFA said on Thursday.

The FIFA disciplinary committee did not use its right to increase a mandatory one-match ban on Cahill, who was sent off against Germany in their 4-0 defeat on Sunday for a foul on Bastian Schweinsteiger.
