Brazilian referee Sandro Ricci, the first official to award a World Cup goal with the aid of goal-line technology, has been put in charge of Germany’s Group G match against Ghana in Fortaleza on Saturday.

The 39-year-old from Brasilia awarded a goal using camera evidence after France striker Karim Benzema’s shot in the 48th minute against Honduras on Sunday went over the line off Honduras keeper Noel Valladares.

Serbian referee Milorad Mazic, who sent off Portugal defender Pepe and awarded a penalty to Germany on Monday, will handle the Group F match between Argentina and Iran, world governing body FIFA said Thursday.

New Zealand referee Peter O’Leary makes a first appearance when he officiates in the day’s other Group F game, between Nigeria and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
