Bhavan’s Vivekananda College, Sainikpuri, won the Osmania University Inter-College Football Tournament defeating Nizam College 5-4 via tie-breaker in the final. The teams were locked one-all at the end of full-time.
It was Nizam College which took the lead in the 10 minute of first-half when striker Hasan was on target. However, Bhavan’s fought back well to score the equalizer through winger Anuj in the 28 minute.
In the tie-breaker, Anuj, Derek, Vikesh, Prem and Jala scored for Bhavan’s, while Hasan, Rashid, Hasam, Ahmed scored for Nizam College. Anwar-ul-Uloom Degree College settled for third place with a 4-3 win, also via tie-breaker, after the two teams were goalless at the end of regulation time.
Zafar Javeed, secretary, Sultan-ul-Uloom Education Society, gave away the prizes.
