It’s about the Euros, not the euro.
Chancellor Angela Merkel may be Germany’s most prominent fan, but she has no say in picking the line-up and coach Joachim Loew is just as happy to stay out of politics ahead of a potentially highly-charged European Championship quarterfinal showdown with Greece.
Loew said the football side is already tough enough and that Germany expects Greece to be an “uncomfortable” opponent.
