Having already been involved in a training ground bust-up with clubmate Arjen Robben in 2010, Germany captain Philip Lahm will have another battle with the Dutch winger on Wednesday.
Lahm knows his clubmate's movements well and will look to force him wide on to his weaker foot and deny any opportunity to step inside and unleash a shot.
The left full-back did exceptionally well to neutralise the threat from Manchester United winger Nani in the opener against Portugal.
The Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk needs to talk to wingers Ibrahim Affellay and Robben to link effectively with the lone striker Robin van Persie.
van Marwijk may also think of deploying Robben on the left to increase his goal-scoring opportunities and in the process stay alive in the group of death.
