Arsenal striker Andrey Arshavin wants to play for Barcelona, saying it would be the highlight of his career.
Arshavin told the English-language website of Russian newspaper Sport Express that if “I have an opportunity to play one season in Barcelona, it would be the peak of my career.”
Arsenal was knocked out of the Champions League by Barcelona in the quarterfinals, and the Russia forward says Barcelona “has become much stronger than any other club.”
The 28-year-old Arshavin, who joined Arsenal in February 2009, says he would prefer to finish his career back in the Russian league rather than playing for an English team that isn’t challenging for the title.
Arsenal has not won the Premier League since 2004.
