AIFF yet to pay East Bengal Fed Cup prize money

June 26, 2013 02:55 am | Updated 02:55 am IST - New Delhi:

It’s been eight months since East Bengal won the Federation Cup, but the Kolkata club is yet to get the prize money of Rs. 25 lakh.

East Bengal won the last edition of the prestigious tournament defeating Dempo SC 3-2 last October.

“We are yet to get the prize money, though it’s been many months now,” a club official said on condition of anonymity.

In this regard, the club has approached the federation many times, but to no avail.

East Bengal’s Federation Cup triumph turned out to be a perfect gift for coach Trevor Morgan, who turned 56 on the same day.

It was also East Bengal’s second Federation Cup triumph under Morgan.
