Steve McNamara has joined the Sydney Roosters as an assistant to coach Trent Robinson but will continue in his role as coach of England’s rugby league side.
The National Rugby League-champion Roosters said Saturday that McNamara had signed a two-year deal and would join Jason Taylor and Craig Fitzgibbon as assistants to Robinson.
The 42-year-old McNamara, a former Bradford Bulls coach in the Super League, has been in charge of England since 2010.
McNamara replaces Paul Green at the Roosters after the former halfback took a head coaching position at North Queensland.
