Yuvraj lauds bowlers, fielders

A self-effacing Yuvraj Singh credited India’s bowling and fielding as the prime factors behind India’s victory on Friday night.

“We knew that Pakistan would come hard at us and Mohammad Hafeez played an outstanding knock. Actually the match could have gone either way.

“I thought we bowled well at the close, Ashoke Dinda got his yorkers in and the fielding was exceptional especially the catches that Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma took under pressure,” Yuvraj said.

The ‘Man of the Match’ stressed that he had time to gauge the attack before unveiling his shots.

“I was in by the seventh over and I had time to settle down and that helped. As for those sixes, I don’t pre-plan those shots because if you do and the ball is not in your range, then you get out.

I just watch the ball closely and let my instinct take over. We have fond memories of this ground and this was a good win,” Yuvraj said.

Earlier, Hafeez lauded Yuvraj's batting and Dinda's bowling while admitting that his team lost its way in the middle stages of the game. “Yuvi played an exceptional knock and we did not get our basics right. When we were chasing, I told the team to think about scoring nine runs an over and not about 192. We didn't score enough in that phase from six to ten overs and Dinda bowled well at the death.”
