Yuvraj & co. have a hit

September 14, 2013 12:56 am | Updated November 16, 2021 09:13 pm IST - Bangalore:

Yuvraj Singh laughed, smote a few shots in the nets and had impromptu chats with coach Lalchand Rajput as a large chunk of the India ‘A’ team trained at the KSCA (B) ground in an optional session here on Friday evening.

Among the absentees, Unmukt Chand preferred to rest in his hotel room while the Pathans — Yusuf and Irfan, Kedar Jadhav and Shahbaz Nadeem are expected to join the squad before Saturday’s practice session ahead of Sunday’s one-dayer against the West Indies ‘A’ team.

Robin Uthappa, who excelled in the recent set of matches against New Zealand `A’ at Visakhapatnam, took first strike while Praveen Kumar, Jaydev Unadkat, Rahul Sharma and others bowled.

Gradually the skies darkened and as the drizzle started, the team trooped into the National Cricket Academy.
