Rejecting reports that his serious differences with Mohammad Yousuf led to the indefinite ban on both the players, former captain Younus Khan said he may file an appeal next week with the Pakistan Cricket Board against the restriction.
“I have no knowledge about such problems (differences with Yousuf). There is no truth in all these reports,” Younus told reporters.
“I am discussing the possibility of appealing against the ban and I might do it next week but nothing is clear as yet,” he said.
The PCB had imposed an indefinite ban on both the former captains on the recommendations of an inquiry committee formed to look into Pakistan’s disastrous tour of Australia.
The inquiry committee in its report said that the infighting between Yousuf and Younus had a bad influence on the whole team during the tour.
Later, the PCB had given 30 days time to all the players, who were banned or fined 30, days to file their appeals before an appellate tribunal of former judges.
Younus, who left Pakistan captaincy last year due to problems with teammates, said he won’t give up playing cricket although he was disheartened by recent developments.
