David Warner’s belligerent 178 lit up the WACA here on Wednesday but one member of the crowd was not particularly thrilled.
One of Warner’s sixes, off Shapoor Zadran in the 32nd over, struck a young boy in the stands behind the long-on boundary. The boy was hit near the shoulder and was later seen receiving treatment.
Warner, who had seen replays of the incident on the big screen, later went and met the affected party and presented him a pair of gloves.
“His shoulder was wrapped in bandage but he seemed okay,” he said.
“I hope he was not too badly hurt. He didn’t have much to say obviously.”
