Mohammed Shami did not bowl in India’s latest training session here but is available to be selected for Friday’s clash against the West Indies. The fast bowler missed India’s previous game, against UAE, with a minor injury to his left knee.

Shami warmed up with his team-mates at the Murdoch University sports oval on Tuesday but did not bowl in the nets. The team management has stated, however, that he is fit.

Shami’s colleagues, meanwhile, trained on the pitch at the centre of the oval. Suresh Raina was one of the first in to bat, while Virat Kohli and M.S. Dhoni sent down a few overs.

A handful of fans watched as India, after two days of rest, trained for nearly three hours.

The day ended on a sour note, however, as Kohli launched a foul-mouthed tirade at an Indian journalist.
