The city is all set to host the four-day one-off women’s Test between India and South Africa from November 16 at the SDNR Wadiyar Platinum Jubilee University grounds.

Speaking at a press conference, India skipper Mithali Raj said, “The selectors have almost retained the side which won the Test against England this year and even though we did not have a proper camp, we are confident of faring well at home where the conditions are familiar.”

She also said the Indian team was well-balanced and had a mixture of experienced and young players.

Mithali expects the wicket to be flat and assist batting initially before turning slowly as the match progresses.

Sudha Shah, the Indian team’s coach, said, “We will look at the wicket tomorrow and take a call on the final eleven.”

The organisers, meanwhile, are keeping their fingers crossed for a full game.

The weather has been fickle with intermittent rains.
