The West Indies cricket team, led by Darren Sammy, arrived here on Monday to play a warm-up match against the Uttar Pradesh Ranji Trophy side and a Test match against India at the Eden Gardens.
The 15-member squad arrived in two batches in the evening ahead of the first match of the tour, which starts at the Jadavpur University second campus complex on Thursday.
The first Test gets underway at the Eden Gardens on November 6. West Indies will play two Tests and three ODIs.
According to the schedule provided by the local host Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), the visitors will be resting on Tuesday before starting practice on Wednesday.
The practice session has been pushed back by a day in a bid to allow the venue dry up sufficiently before the match. The city witnessed one of the heaviest spells of rain of the season barely a couple of days back.
