Celebs took to twitter to salute ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who announced his retirement today from one-day internationals, saying he will be missed on the field.

The champion batsman trended on the micro-blogging site which was flooded with tweets from fans and followers.

“Sachin retires from ODI’s... Did he need to or did we make him... No one can replace him!! He is, was and probably will be the greatest sportsman India ever produced,” tweeted Shahid Kapoor.

“Will miss Sachin Tendulkar in ODI’s,” said actress Bipasha Basu.

“The game cricket will loose its shine for a long time without Sachin. We will miss you in the field! God bless you Sachin! Have not seen a one day player like Sachin. Doubt if one day will have the same charm without Sachin,” Manoj Bajpayee posted.

“Sachin retires from the One Day Format. We will however, continue to see him in whites... Mixed emotions,” said Mandira Bedi.

Actor Rahul Bose tweeted, “Will never forget watching @sachin_rt at Wankhede after the world cup final. Was there ever a happier man? legend”

Formula One racer Narain Karthikeyan said, “End of an era as @sachin_rt retires from one-dayers. Hats off to 23 years of cricketing genius!”

Actor Aftab Shivdasani said, “The Legend retires from one day cricket..will miss him terribly.. like the rest of the world..thank you sachin for the beautiful innings...”

Director-choreographer Prabhudeva said, “Sachin Tendulkar a Living Legend retires from ODI. What a memorable journey it’s been! So many victories he’s set new records. He will be missed.”
