West Indies opts to bat against South Africa

West Indies captain Chris Gayle won the toss on Saturday and chose to bat first against South Africa in the third and final cricket test at Kensington Oval.

The home team made a last-minute change after fast bowler Nelon Pascal sustained a neck injury just before the start.

The West Indies called up 22-year-old fast bowler Brandon Bess for his test debut to replace Pascal. The West Indies also included opener Dale Richards at the expense of the out-of-form Travis Dowlin.

South Africa made one change to the team that drew the second test at St. Kitts on Tuesday.

Off-spinner Johan Botha was called in to replace left-arm seamer Lonwabo Tsotsobe.
