West Indies beats Bangladesh

The West Indies beat Bangladesh by 18 runs in their Twenty20 international at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium on Monday.

Marlon Samuels hit an unbeaten 43-ball 85 which included nine sixes and three boundaries to lift the tourists to 197 for four in the allotted 20 overs. Rubel Hossain took two wickets conceding 63 runs.

In reply, the home team could manage only 179 for the loss of Anamul Haque’s wicket — who made 22 — in its 20 overs. The other opener Tamim Iqbal remained unbeaten on 88 while M. Mahmadullah chipped in with an undefeated 64 not out.

The scores: West Indies 197 for four in 20 overs (D. Smith 24, M. Samuels 85 not out, D. Bravo 41, R. Hossain two for 63) bt Bangaladesh 179 for one (T. Iqbal 85 not out, A. Haque 22, M. Mahmudullah 64 not out).
