Darren Sammy is hopeful of drawing inspiration from the effort his team put here at the Wankhede stadium pitch two years ago and compete with the Indian team that has been caught in the swirl of Sachin Tendulkar’s farewell Test.
He said, whereas India adjusted to Test cricket after a one-day series against Australia, his team was under pressure in the first Test.
The visitors have taken note of Mohammad Shami’s ability to manipulate the new as well as the old ball and are prepared to tackle reverse swing. “We practised by getting some balls scratched up. We are prepared for him (Shami) and also the other bowlers.
“It’s about executing your game plan properly. The pitch looks good with some grass, but come tomorrow there won’t be any. Hopefully, we will have five full days of the game.’’
