England batsman Marcus Trescothick who opted out of international cricket earlier this year due to depression attack might play in India during the Champions League Twenty20 championship starting on October 9.

Trescothick, considered to be one of England’s most talented cricketer, had to take rest after severe depression problem made it tough for him to concentrate on cricket.

Trescothick may get the opportunity as his county team Somerset has qualified for the Champions League, despite losing the final of the Twenty20 Cup to Sussex at Edgbaston on Saturday.

Somerset are willing to make special arrangements to accommodate the 33-year-old cricketer after he hit 32-ball 56 in semifinal against Kent, followed by a brilliant 33 off 15 deliveries in the final.

“He wants to be named in the initial 20-man squad, which is then trimmed down to 15 on September 7,” Somerset chief executive Richard Gould said.

“We have got some time to work out ways we can try and help him compete. There has been talk about whether or not we can base him with his family and then just fly him to India for games, but we will have to look at the logistics of the flight times and costs,” Gould was quoted as saying in The Guardian.
