The logo and theme song of Tuti Patriots, one of the eight teams in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL), were released at Hotel Grand Chola here on Friday.

Popular dancer and actor Prabhu Deva, the chief guest, said he had been captivated by the theme song and the music video featuring the entire team.

He also dwelt on his love for cricket. The song has been composed by music director G.V. Prakash. The logo of the team featured, among others elements, two cricket bats, a ball and a palm tree. The team’s captain Dinesh Karthik said, “Plenty of new cricketers from the districts could emerge from the tournament.

“It is a boon to youngsters since the matches will be shown live on STAR Sports. It will be a big stage and a great opportunity for them.”

L. Balaji said, “When I go to the districts for some function, people are happy, but their eyes ask the question ‘Why do all you people not come here more often.’ This tournament will be greeted by them.”

Abhinav Mukund said, “A small bright performance in the TNPL, before a huge live audience, could make a big impact for a young cricketer.”

Team owner Albert Muralidharan spoke about the bonding of the side and said, “We have a top team, which is very well balanced.”
