SRM edged out Hindustan by one wicket to clinch the title in the South Zone inter-university cricket tournament at JJ CET on Wednesday.

The scores: Final: Hindustan 162 in 42.5 overs (P. Sivaramakrishnan 43, A. Arif 27, S. Aashish Sri Krishnan 25, S. Ashwath three for 22) lost to SRM 163 for nine in 43.4 overs (K. Bharath Shankar 62, Giripal Dhandapani four for 31).

Third place: Madras 139 in 30 overs (Akkil Srinaath 30, Akshay V. Srinivasan 27, Darshan Machaiah four for 20) bt Mangalore 116 in 27 overs (Pawan Raj 31, Adithya Rai 27, J. Koushik three for 17).
