After South Africa and Pakistan, it was Sri Lanka’s turn to dispute the ICC’s claim of “unanimous support” for certain key principles behind a proposed restructuring of the governing body.
“As far as Sri Lanka is concerned, there was no unanimity on this,” a Sri Lankan source said. The BCCI, CA and ECB seemingly need to win over one of these three boards when the ICC reconvenes for another meeting next month.
On Tuesday, ICC chief executive Dave Richardson had said: “I am looking forward to bringing to fruition some of the principles that have been proposed and accepted.”
Michael Atherton, writing in The Times , responded critically, declaring Richardson a “chief executive without a shred of executive power, and chief executive of a body with no function”.
