Lendl Simmons was ruled out of the West Indies’ remaining part of the tour of India due to a back injury.
According to the West Indies Cricket Board, the batsman will fly back to Trinidad & Tobago to go through the rehabilitation process.
The WICB is expected to announce a replacement by Tuesday and the player is understood to be picked from the West Indies ‘A’ team currently playing in Sri Lanka.
Simmons, preferred more for the shorter format of the game, had played in the tour game against India ‘A’ at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
He had made 12 off 26 balls when he had to retire from the pain. Simmons, who made his debut in 2009, last figured in a Test in 2011.
Training sessionThe West Indians, meanwhile, had a training session at the Ferozeshah Kotla in the afternoon.

They have informed the authorities at the Kotla that the team would like to avail the facilities on Tuesday too.
